Information and cyber security is one of the fastest growing areas of focus in both the private and public sector.
Government has made additional investment in information and cyber security, and we're growing our team to respond.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is an integral part of the GCSB, contributing to the national security of New Zealand. We provide technical advice and assistance to Government and organisations with significant national information infrastructures to enable them to protect their information from advanced technology-borne threats.
We look for enthusiastic and driven people with a broad range of skills and experiences. You will be innovative and inquisitive with a focus on delivering high quality outcomes to support our Cyber Security mission.
We need people who want to develop their skills and experience in IT service delivery and have the drive to identify ways to improve our services.
Common sense is key here, you will be the first point of contact for internal user requests and will need to be confident in identifying what you can solve and what needs to be escalated.
We need you to have the confidence to adhere to processes and procedures even when challenged by users so an ability to communicate effectively is vital.

To be eligible for employment within the NZIC you must have been a NZ citizen for at least 10 years. Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
