We're currently on the lookout for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Auckland. As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will be the technical owner of all systems and infrastructure globally.
You will form part of a global platform engineering team that is responsible for implementing and maintaining up to date and fit for purpose IT systems. The role will work with the Architecture and delivery teams to design and deliver solutions that align with the IT Strategy and Roadmap.
The role will be a mix of project-based work and continuous improvement work to deliver new capabilities. You will be working with various teams across the business to focus on defining the detailed design to support efficient, timely and quality solutions aligned to our technology roadmap.
The Cloud Platform Engineer will support the architecture function by contributing to the strategic planning process and the development of a technology roadmap.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Implementation and maintenance of all Windows-based servers including Active Directory
- Implementation and ownership of VMware environment globally
- Solution design and delivery for infrastructure and System-related projects
- Establishing standard & policy and documentation methodologies
- Implementing our retention and disposal policy through our backup systems
- Stakeholder & Vendor management
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and take appropriate action
- Leading strategic planning sessions
- Advise and interact with all levels of management and staff
So who are you?
You must have experience with on-premises Windows Domain and Active Directory Infrastructure across a global environment.
Ideally, you will have five to ten years' experience as an infrastructure/systems engineer. Experience managing remote infrastructure in a global environment will be a great advantage.
A relevant tertiary qualification and/or training qualification would be preferred.
In terms of technical skills, we're looking for someone with experience in Microsoft Active Directory (WSUS, patch management, group policy, RDS, RDG ). Expertise in Windows Administration and PowerShell scripting is needed in this role.
You also need to be proficient with VMware administration and capable of designing highly available and performance infrastructure. Experience in enterprise security including but not limited to identity management, authentication, authorisation, and automated user provisioning would be ideal.
