Job Summary

Our Civil Infrastructure team has an opportunity for a Principal Civil Engineer with 10+ years’ of experience in water infrastructure. Our Auckland based water infrastructure team is involved in delivering some of the most exciting and region shaping infrastructure projects across; wastewater, flood management, highway drainage, urban stormwater, irrigation, water supply, and raw water.

The scope of technical work includes working along-side our hydraulic modelers, undertaking catchment studies and analysis, all stages of water infrastructure design and design for water, wastewater and stormwater networks in an urban setting and site-based construction monitoring activities.

This is a unique opportunity to grow a professional portfolio of large water infrastructure projects for a range of public sector clients. You will be a part of our industry-leading water business and lead and contribute to the delivery of a wide range of projects that provide great outcomes for our clients, our local community and AECOM.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, procurement, contract administration and construction supervision of a variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

  • Preparation of reports, design and contract documentation.

  • Water and wastewater pipeline and pump station design.

  • Water and wastewater treatment process design.

  • Communicating with various internal and external clients and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes to the client's requirements

  • Assist maintaining and growing existing client relationships.

  • Technical mentor to younger professional scientists/engineers.

  • Manage projects through AECOM’s ePM APIC system

Minimum Requirements

  • 10 years’ relevant professional experience.

  • Experience working on water infrastructure projects within a dynamic consulting and design environment including hydraulic, water and wastewater design experience.

  • Construction administration / supervision experience.

  • Gravity and pressure hydraulic analysis experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and meeting delivery requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, and the ability to contribute to bid development and management.

  • Client service focused professional, with a demonstrated commitment to technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant Civil Engineering degree
