We are looking for someone to help us make South Taranaki the most liveable district. For the environmental services group this means finding someone who has a passion for the environment and people in the district and can help the managers of the environmental services group deliver the vision. Right now, we are looking for a unique individual to join us as the Executive Assistant to the Group Manager Environmental Services.

We are looking for a person who has a proven track record as an Executive Assistant in a corporate or government environment who can provide the full range of administrative and secretarial services to our internal and external customers. The right person will also be keen to take on special projects that help improve customer service, process improvement, or assist the integration of sustainability principles into current work practices.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, able to respond to changing workloads and priorities while maintaining flexibility. It would suit someone who has a positive attitude, great people skills, is detail oriented and accurate with recording data, self-motivated and able to handle confidential information with discretion. A high level of integrity and professionalism is required, as is the ability to complete a high volume of tasks with minimal guidance or supervision.

You will need to be proactive, show initiative and have a good sense of humour. You should have well developed communication skills (both written and oral) and excellent computer skills including proficiency with Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. You would be working with staff, elected members, other organisations and the public so you would need to be able to deal with a variety of personalities and backgrounds.
