About the opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and confident HR Business Partner to join us in a permanent fulltime role, based within Dunedin Hospital. Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, you will be responsible providing strategic and tailored people centric advice across a range of functions including workforce planning, performance and change management, industrial and employment relations, and remuneration coupled with a partnership approach with unions.

About you

You’ll be instrumental in guiding, supporting and coaching not only our business leaders but our wider HR Team as well, including HR Consultants who you’ll work closely with. We want your fresh thinking; someone we can all learn from and bounce ideas with. It’s a two-way street though, with plenty of opportunities for you to stretch your practice and grow where no two days will be the same! Mentoring and leadership will come naturally to you along with your love of sharing your knowledge and expertise to help others grow.

Skills you need to be effective in this role:

  • 8+ years broad HR generalist experience, preferably at business partner/senior advisor level.
  • Strong technical HR knowledge, in an NZ employment relations context
  • Able to take the lead on difficult or sensitive performance and change management processes
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve employee issues
  • A naturally skilled and influential communicator
  • Honest and able to build constructive relationships, particularly with Unions
  • Previous experience in a leadership role would be beneficial
