The Project
Ventia are seeking an experienced Field Manager to support our build programmes in the Auckland area. This programme will deliver ultra-fast broadband internet connections to thousands of homes and businesses in the greater Auckland area.
The Job
Reporting to the Programme Delivery Manager, this role will involve a combination of office and field-based activities. You will have autonomy to decide how you should split your time. As Field Manager, you are responsible for Safety, Quality and subcontractor compliance in the field. You will be overseeing and supporting the work of a group of multiple subcontractors; maintaining and building upon the healthy team dynamic and collective sense of purpose that has already been fostered in that group. You will visit or meet with each of your subcontractors regularly, audit sites and provide advice to deliver to monthly targets, and act as a point of escalation for any quality or non-conformance issues.

About You
The successful candidate will have significant field leadership experience, preferably from the Telecommunications industry. A field supervisor, site manager or supervisor from another utility industry, who understands the working environment (safety considerations, engagement with the public, traffic management etc.) may be suited to this role. Someone with a strong customer focus who has had experience in dealing with local councils and multiple stakeholders will also be more likely to succeed in this role.


  • Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
  • Previous experience in the supervision of direct internal teams or subcontractors.
  • Previous experience from the telecommunications, power or water industries.
  • This role requires travel across the Auckland region.
